Soul Trade: Chapter 15Chapter 15: A Wizard's Story
Kate smiled. She had just gotten herself a brand-new haircut and her dark curls danced on her shoulders when she walked to the front door of her house. New clothes would be waiting for her to put them on and she had bought amazing high heels for herself.
The reason for this "new me" version of herself was her birthday. She had turned eighteen today and although she wouldn't celebrate it with her friends until exams were over, it had to be a great day. She had invited Thomas to come over and her dad would cook Italian. Not only because she liked it much, but also because it was the only thing he could make.
She opened the door and smelled the ingredients her father was busy with.
"I'm back. It smells really good, dad!"
Her father smiled and gave her a quick hug.
"Well, anything for my special birthday girl, honey. I still can't believe you're already eighteen years old. I feel quite old myself."
"You are,' Kate grinned. "But that's okay. You're a cool dad."

Grams tipped up and down with her foot. She was sitting on the couch in her daughters living room and constantly looked outside. Thomas became very nervous because of it. She had had a phone call from someone of this so called Council who had announced that a delegation would arrive at their house this evening. They were planning on making him the next Warrior.

"Did they said how late?" Margaret asked.
"No, they never do,' Grams answered. "They're coming from Switzerland, giving an exact time is impossible."
"Yes. Yes, I guess so."
Grams stared out of the window again and Margaret jumped up.
"I can't stand this. Does anyone

Kate was grumpy again. She had the feeling that people kept secrets from her, and she didn't like it. Her father had been awfully quiet and so was Thomas. Since Kate had seen Adam's stuff in the basement, he locked the door every time he exited. What for? Was he really so incredibly childish? She had to admit that it had made her more curious though.
And as far as Thomas was concerned, they didn't talk much anymore. He had tried to avoid her for some reason the entire week that had passed and she wondered if it was because of something that had happened. She couldn't figure out what she could've done wrong though.
She was braiding her hair and grabbed a rubber band out of the basket in front of her. When she looked at her watch, she saw that she had spend almost twenty minutes in the bathroom and she yelped.
"Hurry up, Kate! You'll be late for school,' her father yelled from downstairs.
"Yeah, I noticed,' she yelled back.
Kate had to be at school early because th
